INSPIRATION

The past few years have been very exciting for us. As “high school sweethearts” who have been married since 1977, we have enjoyed countless memorable meals and exceptional wines with family and friends. We are long-time wine lovers and have a special fondness for the white wines of the Graves and Pessac-Leognan regions of France. Several years ago we visited the Napa Valley for our anniversary and learned we could possibly make our own wine as a labor of love and as an outgrowth of our mutual interest over our 30 years of marriage. We decided to give it a try by purchasing grapes and produced two vintages in 2004 and 2005 for ourselves and our friends -- we loved it! One thing led to another. We now produce three wines; two are created wholly from the Sauvignon Blanc grapes grown in our Calistoga vineyard, and a third stainless steel aged Sauvignon Blanc is made from wonderful fruit that we are very fortunate to source from an organic dry-farmed vineyard in Yountville.

In keeping with our goal, we use the archaic French spelling of our family name, Coquerel, and are proud to put our name on each bottle. We believe each represents a singular first step in the realization of our dream.
